One Response to The Two Faces of Islam, by David Wood

  1. θ says:

Islam preceded Prophet Muhammad (Q.42, v.52) and ancient Moslems preceded Islam.

Actually Qur’an doesn’t envision a “fixed form” of the Moslem’s polity. The Moslemhood starts from a person, to the family, society, nation, regions, and empires.

Started from Adam, each Moslem is a caliph for himself.
But Islam can’t be a system of life when Moslems still live as minority (by number quantitatively, or by authority qualitatively). A sole action of Moslem (either good or criminal one) doesn’t automatically make Islam a system of life in a state.

Islam is the religion of peace, but for whom?
Islam can’t be at peace with evilness, crime, filthiness, and sins.
Islam can be peaceful toward the Jizya-payers. Islam can be peaceful toward tolerant Non Moslems, Islam can be peaceful toward those whom maintain a detente continuously.
