The God of the bible is honest and forthright about evil. He declares that he creates it. The god of the Koran tries to hide the fact that he creates evil and is ashamed of it, except when he harms unbelievers, then he brags about it. We know by simple experience that evil is mostly not congruous with the deeds of those who suffer it. There is no simple correlation between the evil that humans suffer and their deeds

Isaiah 45 v 5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

  1. θ says:

Isaiah wrote his book under the anger of Jehovah, hence many verses of it should not be taken literally.
    Isa 28
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

In the book of Isaiah, there are many parables that we should not take literally, such as a parable how Jehovah was somewhat forced “to serve” the sinful Jews:
    Isa 43:24
But thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

Similarly, the Torah was written under the anger of Jehovah due to the complaint of Moses.
    Exo 4
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, [Is] not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

  2. θ says:

Evilness can’t be attributed to God nor to His works.
    Ps 5:4
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

    Ps 145
9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

  3. θ says:

Islam doesn’t agree with the Monist belief (such as Calvinism) that easily or loosely attributes the evilness to God, even to an insulting extension that God is both evil and good.

  4. θ says:

In Islam, Allah is the Creator of all things and the Lord of every thing – including evilness – but He doesn’t want to attribute any unrighteousness to His names.

One of the oft-repeated names of Allah is “Rabb al-‘Alamin” meaning the “Lord of the Knowing ones” precisely. Allah doesn’t choose other possible names, namely Lord of the ignorant ones, or Lord of the unintelligent beings, or Lord of the unwise folks, even though He is indeed the Lord of all.
Names of Allah are called “Asma ul-Husna” (sacred beautiful Names), not the bad ones. The believers testify that whatever Allah sends down is the goodness, not evilness, per Q.16, v.30.

Also in the Bible, God is called “God of glory” (Ps 29:3, Acts 7:2) rather than God of unglorious dishonor. God chooses not to be a monist deity in which evilness could be somewhat easily or loosely attributed to him.

In Monist belief (such as Calvinism), God is both evil and good, he is responsible for all human’s fall, sins, paganism, crime, along with goodness and truth of the elected saints.

  5. madmanna says:

“Evilness can’t be attributed to God nor to His works.
    Ps 5:4
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.”

OK so God creates evil without dwelling with it.

Whatever evil is how can it exist without God to create and sustain it?

  6. madmanna says:

Who creates the evils of sickness and disease and nature catastrophes if not Allah?

Why does he hide in the Koran and not take responsibility for the suffering of mankind?

  7. θ says:

“madmanna says: “Evilness can’t be attributed to God nor to His works. Ps 5:4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.” OK so God creates evil without dwelling with it. Whatever evil is how can it exist without God to create and sustain it?”

Evilness comes from the imperfections done and manifested by the creations along the way of time. Once upon a time every things were all good until one by one manifested its imperfection and evilness.

“madmanna says: Who creates the evils of sickness and disease and nature catastrophes if not Allah? ”

Arabic word “Khaliqin” in Q.37, v.125, Q.29, v.17, Q,89, v.8 means makers. A potter is the maker of potteries, does it mean God creates the potteries instead of a potter? Is God also responsible for making the potteries breakable and fragile? Certainly not.
Allah creates creations with a potency of imperfection, but the creations themselves that make and unleash their imperfect potency to be what we humans call evilness, such as sickness, diseases, even natural disasters.

Excessive interaction between two tectonic plates creates earthquakes, excessive interaction between hormones creates sickness, improper interaction between the sun and seasons creates famine on the earth, interaction between humans and devils creates insanity, magics, war, lust, envy, et cetera.
Humans, devils and false gods are creators of lies.
Q.29, v.17 Whatever is worshiped besides Allah is idols, and ye make (takhluquna) a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned.

“madmanna says: Why does he hide in the Koran and not take responsibility for the suffering of mankind?”

Allah does not take any responsibility whatsoever for the suffering of mankind because it does not benefit Him, not glorify Him, not please Him either. There was no suffering in Eden once, and there will be no suffering at all in Paradise.

  8. madmanna says:

“but the creations themselves that make and unleash their imperfect potency to be what we humans call evilness, such as sickness, diseases, even natural disasters.”

More pagan superstitious nonsense. What else can we expect from your religion considering it’s roots.

  9. Jo Jo says:

After looking at this verse in Classic.net.bible.org, I believe Is 45:7 is very much taken out of context. God judges and brings calamity, but that doesn’t mean that God is evil or that He made evil. James 1:13 says God does not tempt cannot be tempted(to do evil) etc. Gen. chapt. 1-2 says many times God saw and it was good. There was no death, disease or disobedience etc. Everything and everyone glorified God as He intended. But of their own free will, which God puts in all of us even today, evil entered man’s spiritual DNA when “he” decided to play God and rebel. So God glorifies Himself all the more by showing His Perfect Unconditional Love, in hopes that man will look to him as the only source of complete forgiveness and sanctification/ cleansing and redemption. His great love revealed shows God ENTERING INTO His Creation, to offer redemption, even though our offense is against Him. Unlike the Quran, the Bible reveals God’s Nature to man so He may be known by man who is made in His Image. God’s Nature is Holy complete and full of pure light. No evil is there. Contrast to Quran “I take refuge in the Lord of the Dawn, the creator of the mischief(Shari in Arabic, evil) of all things.” IN the Quran Everything we know about Allah seems to emanate from His Sovereign Power. IN the Bible everything we know about God emanates from His Perfect Love which He demonstrates thru Christ’s death burial and resurrection. And that Love mysteriously resonates in the hearts of men who respond to it, and carries with it unbelievable power to bring transformation. The holiness of Allah is mentioned only twice in the Quran. In the Bible His Holiness is a very big deal. Consider Is. 6. Personally I don’t see how the God of the Bible could be the creator of evil and holy at the same time. But, as the Judge of the Universe, His sovereignty certainly allows Him to use man and Satan’s sinful rebellion to vindicate His Holy Name and punish sin. We’re robbing Him of His glory by our sins, and by our human nature out of which the sins come. And His glory is His highest value! He will not tolerate the rebellious nature or sinful actions. To view Him as less is to reduce the Greatness of God. Consider Rom. 3:23 … and fallen short of the GLORY OF GOD. THIS is very scary bad news.
PRETTY MUCH, THE HUMAN RACE IS AT WAR WITH GOD.

    Ephesians 2:14-16English Standard Version (ESV)
14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.

Rom 6:23 is why the Injil is called the GOOD NEWS.
Peace to you!!! happy New year

  10. madmanna says:

    Same to you too.

  11. θ says:

“Jo Jo says: Contrast to Quran “I take refuge in the Lord of the Dawn, the creator of the mischief(Shari in Arabic, evil) of all things.” IN the Quran Everything we know about Allah seems to emanate from His Sovereign Power. ”

Which Qur’anic translations do you read? Q.113, v.1-2 actually say “I take refuge in the Lord of the Dawn. From a mischief of things that were created.”

“Jo Jo says: IN the Bible everything we know about God emanates from His Perfect Love which He demonstrates thru Christ’s death burial and resurrection. ”

Jesus’ suffering requires hatred of all men, and the Spirit grieves Paul in every cities. A love that demanded a total hatred of the others is a narcissism and sick character of obsessive-compulsive behavior.
    Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
    Acts 20:23
Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

“Jo Jo says: why the Injil is called the GOOD NEWS.”

    Good for whom?

  12. madmanna says:

“Jesus’ suffering requires hatred of all men, and the Spirit grieves Paul in every cities. A love that demanded a total hatred of the others is a narcissism and sick character of obsessive-compulsive behavior.”

The hatred is in regard to family ties and ties of friendship which must also be put under the Lordship of Christ to be at his disposal.

We are not commanded to hate all men. The context is limited to ties of natural affection.

The hatred spoken of here regards a free choice of priority which does not break the royal law or golden rule in respect to the person who is the object of the hatred.

The bonds and afflictions that the Spirit gave to Paul fill up the sufferings of Christ:

    King James Bible Colossians 1 v 24

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Only a sick cult has an evil initiation of hating everyone in order to prove an apprentice’s total loyalty and blind commitment.
Luke 14:26 is typical of mafia’s initiation of brainwashing a member’s mind totally, so that he devoted all his wealth to a godfather. In the dark magics, the test of commitment is shown by one’s willingness to even hate his children for sacrifice to devils .

In Islam, in order to put family ties and friendships under the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad, we Moslems do not need to “hate” them.

“madmanna says: The bonds and afflictions that the Spirit gave to Paul fill up the sufferings of Christ: King James Bible Colossians 1 v 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:”

Filling up for what? For food?
Did your Christ and Spirit need Paul to suffer himself for them?
So, Christ and Spirit were “fed” by his devotee’s sufferings, pains and torments, otherwise they would be starved without foods. When everyone stops sacrificing his life for your Christ and Spirit, they turn to be as weak as mortals.
