Abandoning a dolls in the dusty store room does not mean playing it.
Abu Dawud, Book 42, Hadith 4914.
When the Messenger of Allah arrived after the expedition to Tabuk or Khaybar (the narrator is doubtful), the draught raised an end of a curtain which was hung in front of her store-room, revealing some dolls which belonged to her. He asked: What is this? She replied: My dolls. Among them he saw a horse with wings made of rags, and asked: What is this I see among them? She replied: A horse. He asked: What is this that it has on it? She replied: Two wings. He asked: A horse with two wings? She replied: Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings? She said: Thereupon the Messenger of Allah laughed so heartily that I could see his molar teeth.
The Hadith of playing the dolls with Aisha’s friends – in the house of her own parents – does not indicate the time when *after* Aisha was already betrothed, let alone got marriage.
Rather, Hadith of playing the dolls is more about the indication for the years *before* her betrothal with him, because beside she still lived with her parents, Aisha herself hadn’t yet acknowledged him as her fiance, meaning that her betrothal had not yet taken place.
Bukhari, Vol. 8, Book 73, Hadith 151.
I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah’s Messenger used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me.
Mature women are allowed to make, keep and store the toys or dolls somewhere on purpose to pacify the kids during the time of fasting.
Muslim, Book 6, Hadith 2532
Khalid b. Dhakwan reported: I asked Rubayyi’ daugther of Mu’awwidh about fasting on the day of ‘Ashura. Thereupon she said: The Messenger of Allah sent his messenger to the villages of the Ansar, and the rest of the hadith is the same (but with this variation that one of the Companions) said: We used to make toys out of wool and took (them to the mosque) along with us. When they (the children) asked us for food, we gave them these toys to play with, and these made them forgetful till they completed their fast.
What about the age difference? Doesn’t bother Muslims does it?
Just as the wider age difference between Joseph and Mary, as well as David and Abishag in the Bible.
David and Abishag is not a normal situation. There is no evidence that Joseph and Mary were different in age.
“madmanna says: David and Abishag is not a normal situation. ”
Marriage of Prophet Muhammad and Aisha occurs at a worse situation – as immigrants – than the well happy established king David had. Prophet Muhammad was immigrant, David was a king when marrying Abishag.
