The Word is the only word that is not a thing but a rational, relational Being

The Beginning

(Genesis 1:1-2)

John 1 v 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The Witness of John

(Malachi 3:1-5)

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Word Made His Dwelling among Us

(Psalm 84:1-12)

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

According to the Quran the Word is a Spirit sent from Allah:

People of the Book, go not beyond the bounds in your religion, and say not as to God but the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only the Messenger of God, and His Word that He committed to Mary, and a Spirit from Him (roohun minhu). So believe in God and His Messengers, and say not, ‘Three.’ Refrain; better is it for you. God is only One God. Glory be to Him — That He should have a son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth; God suffices for a guardian. S. 4:171

Thou shalt not find any people who believe in God and the Last Day who are loving to anyone who opposes. God and His Messenger, not though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their clan. Those — He has written faith upon their hearts, and He has confirmed them with a Spirit from Himself (roohin minhu); and He shall admit them into gardens underneath which rivers flow, therein to dwell forever, God being well-pleased with them, and they well-pleased with Him. Those are God’s party; why, surely God’s party — they are the prosperers. S. 58:22

If the Word is a personal, relational and rational Being, as the first chapter of John plainly proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, then the Spirit, who is the Word according to the Koran, is also personal, rational and relational.

The Holy Spirit is indeed a personal, rational and relational Being as the bible correctly teaches. A strange coincidence that Koran actually confirms this, by accident rather than design.

Trinitarian version of John 1:1 has been dismissed and rebutted by Jews, Unitarians and Moslems. Despite seeing it, neither Abraham (Jn 8:58) nor Isaiah (Jn 12:41) worshiped the preexistent Word. Similarly David does not worship a Lord at God’s throne, nor Spirit who inspires him about that Lord. Similarly Solomon doesn’t worship the preexistent Wisdom despite knowing its existence in the beginning. Moses doesn’t worship Spirit despite knowing his role in the beginning of creation. Trinitarian debaters just circulate John 1:1 over and over without having any capability to reasoning. A repetition doesn’t change a fact they can’t refute Jews, Unitarians and Moslems on John 1:1.

Jehovah is the uncreated Light. The Word of John 1:1 is attributed to the uncreated Light of Jehovah. But Jesus’ face is seen by eyes, and his body can be touched or approached.
    1Jn 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
    1Tim 6:16
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see:

God gives the life to any rational relational being. But Jesus is given a life to live temporarily.
    Job 33:4
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
    Jn 5:26
    For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

God creates a temporary light. But Jesus is a temporal light because he was created:
    Isa 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
    Jn 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
    Jn 12:46
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
    Jn 12:35
Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light,

Jews have seen the Word, yet they don’t worship it.
    Jer 2:31
O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel?
    Jer 38:21
But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:
    Dt 5:5
I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire,
    1Sam 3:21
And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
    1Sam 9:27
Stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Gnostic elements inside the Gospel of John.

Word is not a silence. The Word would never coexist with silence.
Action is creating, anything the body works upon must be a creation, either it is idea (of mind), or or word (of mouth), or a writing (of fingers), or things (of hands). The Book of Genesis is very Unitarian because it proves that besides the Word is produced, the Light also is produced.

One of the ancient nemesis of the Trinitarians is the 1st century Gnostics who so easily disprove the divinity of Jesus with a belief in the nature and preexistence of Jesus as the Gnostic “Light”. As the book of Genesis mentions, the Light is not something eternal nor from everlasting despite having existent since the beginning.

If Jesus is the Light, it means he was made on the 1st Day coming out the will and mouth of Jehovah. Hence, Jesus the Light must be creation. Jesus the Word must be creation.
    Jn 1:9
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
    Jn 12:46
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
    vs.
    Gen 1
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light.

Prior to the act of creating:
    i) God was remaining silent or inaudible.
ii) Nature’s ability to speak during the time of silence is not synonymous to the Word.
Silence is not a speech. Silence is not the audible Word. Ability to speak during the time of silence is synonymous to the abstract mind.
iii) The Word had not yet been.
iv) The Light had not yet been.
