Notice the difference between the real prophet of the real God of the bible and the phoney prophet of the phoney god who was poisoned to death

Elisha Purifies the Poisonous Stew

2 Kings 4 v 38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets. 39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. 40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof. 41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

Feeding a Hundred Men

42 And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat. 43 And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. 44 So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

    (i) Agnostic arguments do not persuade much.
What convinces Moslems of the truth of Islam is not a weakness of Prophet Muhammad as a human – because many earlier Prophets were even worse, yet we believe in them – but rather a strong argumentation of Allah as the true God of Abraham.

(ii) Secular arguments do not persuade much.
What disappoints Moslems of the supremacy of Islam is not a terrorism or violence of certain criminals who act in the name of Islam, but rather a defeat or loss or the cowardice of Moslems over a more superior Non-Moslem forces.

In Secular perspective, being a coward may be hailed as a proof of having the true faith, – due to the story of Jesus of Gospel or Samson in Tanach – but in Islamic perspective, being the coward loser is a potent proof of being in a false faith.
Having the Moslem societies who succumbed and feared their Non-Moslem oppressors is a stronger reason to doubt or question their true faith.
Having the Moslem brethren who refuse to either act or react against for a greater meaning of life, survival, even truth of Islam – which is what Islamic struggle is all about – is something which may disappoint or question Moslems of the promise of supremacy of Islam.

In other words, the action or reaction that may cast a doubt of a Moslem’s Islamic commitment is not his violence nor his ideology, but rather his inaction, his passiveness, apathy, cowardice, pacifism, even perhaps his attraction to the unacceptable Non-Moslem’s behaviors.

Reacting in the name of Islam (no matter how bad or failed it is) is seen as the serious effort to show a manhood struggle. There is a merit on it.
Being apathetic without reacting whatsoever, which is a cowardice, even pacifism, in the front of other Non-Moslem oppressors is rather judged in Islam as a sign of having little faith in Islam.

    How would you define oppression?

Being under a different law to Sharia?

I would say oppression to a Muslim of your ilk is not being able to dictate to the non-Muslim how he should live. Being oppressed is being part of a powerless Ummah which does not have the power to enforce sharia. It is humiliating for you as a Muslim when you are not allowed to burn, rape, kill and rob the kuffar because you heard a rumour that one of them tore a page of the koran or said something derogatory about Mohammed. Not being able to fully express your piety in this way is a restriction of the rights that every Muslim has under sharia. The secular law forces you to restrain your piety and your love for Allah and his prophet, does it not? That’s not right is it. How unjust!

Being free on the other hand, for a non-muslim like me, means not having to live under sharia law. Will the west remain passive as it now is and try to appease muslims until we have no freedoms left? This seems to be the strategy of the western ruling elites at the moment, believing that Islam can be part of the multi-cultural utopia of which they dream.

Moslems don’t want to make Prophet Muhammad our adversary in the Afterlife, let alone to try to mess with our sure salvation because of a silly choice to harm the dhimmis who are protected in the sacred name of Allah and under the guarantee of Prophet Muhammad.

Don’t forget we have our valid Islamic leaning toward Jesus, that is Sufism.
Without Sufism, perhaps there’s no more left any Moslem today. It is Medieval Sufis who tamed the unbeatable Mongolian hordes, even made them convert to Islam. All “Jihadis” and all “Caliphs” at that time just gave up dead under the feet of the barbaric Mongolians. Without Sufism, perhaps Islam would have been a history today. Hence, It is a proof that the Sufism is a safer of religion when Islam needs it, thus becomes one of inherent parts of Islamic reality.

Moslem world also realises Jihad has a limitation. It can’t win hearts and minds of Non-Moslems to Islam. Cordova, Poitiers, Vienna, Sicily, et cetera proved it. On other hand, there’s a fruitful fact of the conversion of the violent Mongols to Islam by Sufis.
