Do the following constitute non-sacrificial rites not abrogated by Jesus?

Non-sacrificial rites:
– Checking out (such as her pubic hairs and breast) of the captured females in order to save the underage girls in war, Numbers 31:18.
– Marrying the underage girls captured by slave-takers after the month of mourning, Deuteronomy 21:13.
– Doing Abraham’s circumcision, Joshua 5:2.
– Resting on Sabbath day as Moses did before existence of the temple, Exodus 31:14.
– Approving Laws of polygamy, Deuteronomy 21:15.
– Punishing the blasphemers, Deuteronomy 5:11.
– Beating the rebellious daughters with rods, Psalm 89:30-32.
– Stoning the Sabbath breaker, Exodus 31:14.
– Destroying the statues, Exodus 34:13.
– Stabbing the apostates (Numbers 25:8), burning the adulterous daughter (Leviticus 21:9), cutting the woman’s hands (Deuteronomy 25:11-12), hunting the witch to death (Exodus 22:18-20), treating women like dogs (Eccles.26:25).

Ecc. 26:25?, where is this, etc is not an approved argument on my website.

Numbers 31 v 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. 3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.

13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. 14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. 15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? 16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

This is not law as a continuous binding obligation. It is a specific judgement at a particular time and place on a particular people, the Midianites. If it was law it wouldn’t be specific to a certain people, the Midianites, because of certain sins. It would be applicable to all peoples at all times and there would be no need for God to explain why this people in particular should be punished for this particular crime which was peculiar to them.

To be continued.

  1. θ says:

“Madmanna says: It is a specific judgement at a particular time and place on a particular people, the Midianites.”

Was Jesus still the same God of Christians at that time, or not yet?

However, without any Biblical objection of pedophilia, Jewish congregation made a decision to snatch and marry 400 underage girls of Jewish Jabeshgilead.
    Jud 21
12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead four hundred young virgins, that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them unto the camp to Shiloh.

  2. madmanna says:

“Underage girls.” what do you mean by that?

The text says they are virgins, that does not mean that they are “underage”.

  3. θ says:

The wording “virgins that had known no man by lying with any male” includes underage girls.

  4. madmanna says:

Does not prove that they included any underage girls for selection for marriage.

  5. madmanna says:

We can safely assume that they were excluded.

  6. θ says:

Was Jesus still the same God of Christians at that time of Moses (Num. 31:18), or not yet?
Where is Jesus objection of pedophilia at that time?
Where was he when those underage girls needed him?

  7. θ says:

    correction:
    – Beating the rebellious daughters with rods, Psalm 89:30-32.
    should be:
    – Beating the rebellious daughters and the rebellious wives (because someone’s wives are descendants of David) with rods, Psalm 89:30-32.

  8. θ says:

    Additional comments:
Where is Jesus when the wives who get beaten need him?

Beating with rods is approved by Jesus (if Jesus were Jehovah) against the rebellious daughters and the rebellious wives (because someone’s wives are descendants of David), Psalm 89:30-32.

  9. madmanna says:

    “30If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;

    31If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

32Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.”

The rod is a metaphor for the corrective discipline of Jehovah against his people when they forsake his laws.

  10. madmanna says:

“Marrying the underage girls captured by slave-takers after the month of mourning, Deuteronomy 21:13.”

    Underage? What evidence?

If you don’t give me any evidence for this assertion I will delete every comment which mentions it along with all comments that include the word “bitch” or irrelevant questions or statements that are not attempted logical counter arguments to my arguments. Waste more of your time if you want. It seems you have nothing better to do.

    Marrying a Captive Woman

    Deut 21 v

10When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, 11And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; 12Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; 13And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife. 14And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.

The text talks about a “beautiful woman” not an underage minor.

  11. madmanna says:

    ” Doing Abraham’s circumcision, Joshua 5:2.

    – Stoning the Sabbath breaker, Exodus 31:14.
    – Destroying the statues, Exodus 34:13.
    – Stabbing the apostates (Numbers 25:8), burning the adulterous daughter (Leviticus 21:9), cutting the woman’s hands (Deuteronomy 25:11-12), hunting the witch to death (Exodus 22:18-20), treating women like dogs (Eccles.26:25).”

We are not descended from Abraham so we do not circumcise ourselves.

We have a different basis for the sabbath rest as the Jews did.We look back to the resurrection they look back to creation of the world.

Deuteronomy 21:15 is only a law contingent upon the practice of polygamy. It does not establish, endorse or sanction polygamy. Just as divorce regulating separation was a concession to the sinfulness of man and a protection for the woman.

    “Punishing the blasphemers, Deuteronomy 5:11.”

Jesus forgave blasphemers except against the Holy Spirit and abrogated the criminal punishment of blasphemy.

“Stoning the Sabbath breaker, Exodus 31:14.

These are acts of defiance perpertrated in the face of a holy God who can be heard and seen in the pillar and the cloud. He dwells in the midst of the people and miraculously provides for them, therefore these acts of defiance must be punished accordingly.

The kingdom of God has a different form and structure after Christ has risen and a different way of being governed by God.

    what is this?
